Solace in cheese on toast…

Solace in the form of cheese on toast, residing infront of Come Dine With Me repeats has been on the agenda for today. Whilst I genuinely thought the end of exams and the end of school would be a welcome freedom, the days are beginning to become more and more tiresome and - without meaning to sound boring - boring.

Other activities that have so far filled my nineteen and three quarter days since the last exam include: sitting watching the Facebook newsfeed as fewer and fewer friends update their statuses, upload pictures or play mind-numbing quizzes; throwing out prospectuses of the universities which I have brutally rejected in the laborious UCAS application process - this also resulted in some heavy research into the viability of the recyclability of stapled booklets and envelopes with the oddly strong plastic windows; spending inordinate amounts of money shopping online; and finally, possibly my favourite of all, I counted all my 1p, 2p and 5p coins to take to the bank… after about 3 years I have made £20, a fairly insignificant amount if you consider the amount of time I have been saving these coins. In fact, that is less that £10 a year. That’s not even £1 a month!

Asside from my bitter dissapointment at my own pityful attempts at saving, I have also taken this opportunity to both read and watch television. Admittedly I did partake in both these activities whilst on exam leave, so possibly not quite as exciting as this could be. The absolute most amazing book I have read for quite a while - take into account that the last year has been spent reading King Lear, The French Lieutenant’s Woman and Wuthering Heights - was Alan Carr’s autobiography. I genuinely don’t think I’ve laughed so much at a book in quite a long time.

On another literary related note, Richard & Judy are liars. Their “Summer Reads” list is a shambles and after purchasing one of the books I can fairly say that I was less than impressed in their choices - I won’t name the book.

I feel I may have rambled somewhat, my head is a mess of other unrelated points I would like to make which can wait until my next post. Enjoy. I’m off to do my Coach Trip application form… yes, you read that right.
